Fearless Pursuit

Portrait of a Black-crowned Night Heron entitle, "Fearless Pursuit" not only because it was walking right by where I was standing but because it was going into nesting Egret territory. I ducked down behind some shrubs as it was approaching and watched as it stealthily walked over and picked up a twig which had obviously fallen from the tree where the Egrets where nesting above. After it quickly but cautiously picked the twig with its beak, it made sure the coast was clear before flying off with the stolen goods. Real life drama in the natural world.
