The smallest North American Falcon also known as a Sparrow Hawk, probably because of its size. It is between a Robin in a Crow in size. As you can see from the photograph, they are quite colorful. They hunt mainly by snatching their prey off the ground but are able to get it on the wing as well. Their habitat ranges from deserts and grasslands to alpine meadows.
